    No.C276 is an austenitic alloy that cannot be hardened by heat treatment.It can only be hardened and strengthened through cold working.Annealing at 2050°F (1121°C) followed by a rapid quench is used only to soften the material and restore maximum corrosion resistance after heavy processing.
    Because the plate features an ultra-low carbon content.During the welding process,this low carbon limit prevents the formation of corrosive chromium-carbide precipitates along the grain boundaries.The HAZ remains completely stable and resistant to intergranular attack in the as-welded condition.
