High-Temperature Tensile Performance

Yes.Hastelloy C22 pipes can be welded to dissimilar metals like 316L stainless steel pipes,duplex stainless steel,or carbon steel.
- Filler Metal: You must use an over-alloyed filler metal, typically Alloy 622 (ERNiCrMo-10) wire or EniCrMo-10 electrodes.
- Precaution: Galvanic corrosion can occur in the less noble stainless steel side if the process fluid is highly conductive and aggressive.
No.Unlike earlier nickel alloys or carbon steels,Hastelloy C22 tubing is ready for service immediately after welding.Its ultra-low carbon content prevents the formation of dangerous intergranular carbides during welding.Performing standard stress-relief heat treatment may actually induce the formation of brittle intermetallic compounds (Sigma/Mu phases) and reduce corrosion resistance.If structural heating is necessary,full solution annealing should be performed at 2050°F,followed by rapid water quenching.

- Hydrochloric Acid:
C22 offers excellent resistance to dilute HCl at moderate temperatures.However,for highly concentrated boiling HCl,specialized alloys like Hastelloy B3 perform better. - Sulfuric Acid:
C22 provides superb resistance across a wide range of concentrations at temperatures up to 150℉.It is particularly effective in sulfuric acid streams that are contaminated with oxidizing impurities (like ferric ions or dissolved oxygen),where other alloys fail.
