Both imports and exports fell

According to data released by the customs, the total volume of domestic stainless steel imports and exports in June 2019 has decreased.

In terms of exports, China’s stainless steel exports totaled 283,700 tons in June 2019, a decrease of 35,500 tons from the previous month, a decrease of 11.12%, and a decrease of 123,800 tons or 30.38% compared with last year.

In terms of imports, China’s total imports of stainless steel in June 2019 was 48,200 tons, a decrease of 22,200 tons from the previous month, a decrease of 31.53%, and a decrease of 187,700 tons or 79.57% from the same period last year.

The total amount of stainless steel imported from Indonesia in June 2019 was 0.65 million tons, a decrease of 74.21% from the previous month and a decrease of 94% from June last year. Mainly because the billet imports were reduced from 19,600 tons to 0 tons last month.
