E United Group’s Indonesia Stainless Steel Plant Is Expected To Start Construction In June 2020

In order to ensure the stability of the source and resist low-priced imports, Taiwan E United Group plans to invest US$700 million in a one-stop stainless steel mill including the upstream nickel mine in South Slavic, Indonesia.

The first phase of the stainless steel solutions project is planned to produce 1 million metric tons per year. Currently, this investment case is actively evaluated and accelerated. If all the application procedures are successful, it is expected to start construction in June 2020. As for the second phase of the project, the annual production capacity of one million metric tons is also planned, which is a total of 2 million metric tons of production capacity. However, it is expected that the second phase of investment will be reduced compared with the first phase.

For the recent market launch of E United Group’s Indonesian investment case, Mr. Lin, the chairman of the group, said in a recent interview that the entire investment case continues to be promoted. As soon as the time is ripe, construction will begin immediately, but there are still some constructions at this stage.

The factory program needs to be overcome, and he is not very clear about the rumors that will be launched in the near future.

E United Group said that this investment plan has invested US$30 million last year to purchase two mines (including exploration costs) in Slavic, Indonesia, so that it can obtain low-cost laterite nickel ore raw materials after future investment. As for the scale of the plant, the relevant supervisor pointed out that the main investment projects include nickel-iron steelmaking plant, slab process and hot-rolled stainless steel production line. The first phase of the project plans to produce 1 million metric tons per year, with an investment of 700 million US dollars.

The project also plans to produce an annual output of one million metric tons, but saves the funds required for the first phase under the pre-engineering and infrastructure.
