    UNS S32760 pipe is a high-performance super duplex stainless steel with a 50/50 austenitic-ferritic microstructure,engineered for exceptional corrosion resistance and high strength.

    Compared to UNS S32750 (Alloy 2507),S32760 contains added Copper (Cu) and Tungsten (W) to enhance corrosion resistance in certain acidic environments.
    Both materials exhibit PREN values exceeding 40, but due to S32760’s superior resistance to pitting corrosion, it is typically the preferred choice for critical, severely corrosive, or acidic gas applications.
    S32760 exhibits excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride-containing environments. Its yield strength is approximately twice that of standard 22% chromium duplex stainless steel.

    • Seamless Pipe:
      Manufactured by heating solid round billets,followed by piercing and cold drawing/rolling. Its advantage lies in material homogeneity,typically eliminating the need for complex non-destructive testing (NDT) of welds.
    • Welded Pipe:
      Manufactured by rolling steel plate into a cylinder and then welding it.The critical factor is weld quality.High-quality S32760 welded pipe must undergo rigorous solution annealing to restore the duplex microstructure equilibrium at the weld seam and undergo 100% radiographic (RT) or ultrasonic (UT) testing.

    The most standard surface treatment method in industrial applications is acid pickling followed by solution annealing.This process removes scale formed during welding or heat treatment,restoring corrosion resistance to meet design specifications.
    Bright annealed surfaces are extremely smooth,clean,and retain a metallic luster,making them commonly used for instrumentation tubing.
    For S32760,if sandblasting is employed,chemical pickling or passivation must follow to remove embedded iron ion residues from the surface.Failure to do so may cause electrochemical corrosion.
