SAF2507 duplex pipe is a super duplex stainless steel pipe

SAF2507 duplex pipe has main alloying elements include 25% chromium, 4% molybdenum and 7% nickel. Due to the high content of chromium and molybdenum in this steel, its corrosion resistance is extremely strong.

In the environment of diluted hydrochloric acid, SAF2507 duplex stainless steel pipe has better resistance to spot damage and crevice corrosion than 316L austenitic steel; In the diluted sulfuric acid mixed with chloride ions, SAF2507 duplex steel pipe is more corrosion resistant than 904L (specially used for austenitic steel resistant to pure sulfuric acid corrosion); SAF2507’s stress corrosion cracking resistance and strength are stronger than 2205.

SAF2507 duplex has high compressive strength, impact strength, low thermal expansion coefficient and high thermal conductivity, so it is suitable for the processing of mechanical devices. Although SAF2507 has a high impact strength, the toughness of SAF2507 duplex stainless steel will be greatly reduced in a temperature environment higher than 570°F.

The high alloy content of SAF2507 is its corrosion resistance and mechanical properties. Due to the guarantee of other stainless steels, but after welding, a large number of alloying elements will also cause the precipitation of brittle phases, nitrides and carbides, which in turn affects its mechanical and corrosion properties of stainless steel pipe welding.
