Vale Indonesia’s Nickel Ore Production Fell 7% Year-on-year From January To September
PT Vale Indonesia said in a statement on Monday that the company produced 50,531 tons of nickel-deuterated ore from January to September this year, down 7% from the same period last year.
The company said that third-quarter production increased by nearly 12% from the second quarter.
Chief Executive Nico Kanter said that “the third quarter production was higher than the second quarter, the main maintenance work has been completed,” adding that the company is optimistic about the annual production of about 71,000 tons of nickel antimony ore.
Earlier this year, Vale Indonesia lowered its production target for 2019 from 74,000 tons to 70,000 to 72,000 tons.
