The reason why we chose to build the Huangdao oil storage base is entirely because when my country built a ground oil base before, it was necessary to build oil storage barrels, and the equipment required a lot of steel. However, at that time, the steel produced in my country was far inferior to the steels of the United States and Japan in terms of strength and durability, but other countries were unwilling to export steel to China. For this reason, after years of hard work, my country finally had special steel for oil industry.

Huangdao Base mainly stores oil in natural rocks tens of meters deep underground, which not only increases the storage capacity of oil, but also improves safety. In addition, in the field of oil storage capacity, it is basically necessary to meet the 90-day oil usage time of a country. At present, the usage time in the United States has reached 150 days, while that in Japan has reached 200 days.

It is reported that according to China’s current oil storage capacity, the use time is about 40 days. But with the completion of one oil storage base after another, it is expected to reach 90 days of use time, which is also called one of the oil strategic projects by the outside world. Moreover, with the gradual increase in oil storage in Africa, it may become one of my country’s main oil import areas in the future. Therefore, whether my country can break through the 90-day period of use, the African region occupies a very important position, and even the key.
