Alloy 20 pipe is a novel material developed from austenitic stainless steel by increasing nickel content to 32%-38%, precisely blending molybdenum and copper elements, and introducing niobium as a stabilizing element. It combines the cost-effectiveness of stainless steel with the corrosion resistance of nickel-based alloys. Compared to standard 316L stainless steel pipe, Alloy 20 pipe offers superior corrosion performance. Compared to Hastelloy C276, it also offers lower costs.
After over seventy years of development, this alloy has found extensive applications across petrochemical, offshore engineering, nuclear industries, and more, establishing itself as a cross-industry solution for highly corrosive environments.
