There are three main points:
The main component of cast iron pipe is iron, so it will easily rust and corrode at normal temperature. Therefore, the cast iron pipe usually has a relatively firm anti-corrosion layer, generally asphalt paint or silver paint, and also epoxy paint, so the appearance is The touch is the color and texture of the paint.
The main component of the stainless steel pipe is alloy steel. As the name implies, it is difficult to rust at normal temperature, so all the stainless steel is seen. As for the shiny stainless steel for decoration, it has been polished.
Galvanized steel pipe is a layer of zinc plated on the outside of the steel pipe. Because ordinary steel pipes (called welded steel pipes in engineering) are the same as cast iron pipes, they are easily corroded and corroded at normal temperature, and the outer layer is galvanized to protect the pipes. What is usually seen is the color of the galvanized layer. As shown in the two figures above, the difference between the stainless steel pipe and the galvanized pipe is obvious.
2. Connection method.
Cast iron pipes are not welded, socket connections, clamp connections, flange connections, etc., seem obvious.
In principle, galvanized steel pipes are not allowed to be welded because the welding will damage the galvanized layer and there will be electrochemical corrosion between the solder and the galvanized layer. Therefore, it is usually a threaded connection, a clamp connection, and a threaded flange connection. The welding procedure in Figure 1 should be wrong.
Stainless steel pipes are basically welded, but also have welded flange connections and clamp connections. Because the stainless steel pipe is strong, it is not easy to thread.
