Les compositions chimiques de l&#039;acier, la taille et la forme du produit et les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s souhait\u00e9es sont des facteurs importants pour d\u00e9terminer lequel des cycles de production suivants utiliser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L&#039;objet du traitement thermique des m\u00e9taux est de conf\u00e9rer certaines propri\u00e9t\u00e9s physiques souhait\u00e9es au m\u00e9tal ou d&#039;\u00e9liminer les conditions structurelles ind\u00e9sirables qui peuvent se produire dans le traitement ou la fabrication du mat\u00e9riau. Lors de l&#039;application de tout traitement thermique, il est souhaitable que \u00ab\u00a0l&#039;historique ant\u00e9rieur\u00a0\u00bb ou l&#039;\u00e9tat structurel du mat\u00e9riau soient connus afin qu&#039;une m\u00e9thode de traitement puisse \u00eatre prescrite pour produire le r\u00e9sultat souhait\u00e9. En l&#039;absence d&#039;informations sur le traitement ant\u00e9rieur, une \u00e9tude microscopique de la structure est souhaitable pour d\u00e9terminer la bonne proc\u00e9dure \u00e0 suivre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 style=\"font-size:16px\">Les traitements thermiques commerciaux couramment utilis\u00e9s sont la sph\u00e9ro\u00efdisation, la normalisation, le recuit, le durcissement et la trempe. Le traitement ci-dessus peut \u00eatre bri\u00e8vement d\u00e9fini comme suit\u00a0:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Sph\u00e9ro\u00efdisation<\/em><\/strong>: chauffage prolong\u00e9 des alliages \u00e0 base de fer \u00e0 une temp\u00e9rature l\u00e9g\u00e8rement inf\u00e9rieure \u00e0 la plage de temp\u00e9rature critique suivi d&#039;un refroidissement relativement lent, g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement \u00e0 l&#039;air. Les petits objets en acier \u00e0 haute teneur en carbone sont plus rapidement sph\u00e9ro\u00efdis\u00e9s par un chauffage prolong\u00e9 \u00e0 des temp\u00e9ratures alternativement comprises et l\u00e9g\u00e8rement inf\u00e9rieures \u00e0 la plage de temp\u00e9rature critique. Le but de ce traitement thermique est de produire un \u00e9tat globulaire du carbure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Normaliser<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0:\u00a0chauffer les alliages \u00e0 base de fer \u00e0 des temp\u00e9ratures d&#039;environ 50\u00a0 au-dessus de la plage de temp\u00e9rature critique, suivi d&#039;un refroidissement \u00e0 l&#039;air en dessous de la plage. Le but est de remettre la structure m\u00e9tallique dans un \u00e9tat normal en \u00e9liminant toutes les op\u00e9ration de traitement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>recuit<\/em><\/strong> est un terme complet appliqu\u00e9 aux traitements thermiques qui peuvent \u00eatre utilis\u00e9s pour \u00e9liminer les contraintes\u00a0; induire la douceur\u00a0; modifier la ductilit\u00e9, la t\u00e9nacit\u00e9, les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s \u00e9lectriques, magn\u00e9tiques ou autres propri\u00e9t\u00e9s physiques, affiner la structure cristalline\u00a0; \u00e9liminer les gaz ou produire une microstructure. La temp\u00e9rature du traitement et la vitesse de refroidissement d\u00e9pendent de l&#039;objet du traitement et de la composition du mat\u00e9riau \u00e0 traiter thermiquement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Durcissement <\/em><\/strong>est le chauffage et la trempe de certains alliages \u00e0 base de fer \u00e0 partir d&#039;une temp\u00e9rature comprise ou sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 la plage de temp\u00e9rature critique. La temp\u00e9rature du chauffage et la dur\u00e9e \u00e0 cette temp\u00e9rature, ou \u00ab\u00a0p\u00e9riode de trempage\u00a0\u00bb, d\u00e9pendent de la composition du mat\u00e9riau. Les agents de trempe utilis\u00e9s peuvent d\u00e9pendre de la composition, de la duret\u00e9 souhait\u00e9e et de la complexit\u00e9 de la conception.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Trempe<\/em><\/strong> est le r\u00e9chauffage apr\u00e8s durcissement des alliages \u00e0 base de fer \u00e0 une temp\u00e9rature inf\u00e9rieure \u00e0 la plage de temp\u00e9rature critique, suivi de toute vitesse de refroidissement souhait\u00e9e.
