What is 304L Steel? The Weld-Optimized 304!
304L is an acier inoxydable austénitique, very similar to 304 steel, the main difference being its carbon content. It has a low maximum carbon content (0.03% vs. 0.08%). This low carbon minimises the precipitation of chrome carbure. This occurs during the welding process and greatly improves corrosion post-soudure résistance.
