Este proceso supone un riesgo importante para los sistemas que emplean <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaysuns.com\/es\/tubos-de-acero-inoxidable-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tubos de acero inoxidable<\/a> y <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaysuns.com\/es\/accesorios-de-tuberia-de-acero-inoxidable\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">accesorios<\/a>. En cambio, implica cambios metal\u00fargicos lentos dentro del metal s\u00f3lido. Estos cambios se producen principalmente entre 400 \u2103 y 900 \u2103 (750 \u2109 y 1650 \u2109). La alta temperatura hace que ciertos elementos se muevan y precipiten. Este movimiento forma nuevas fases fr\u00e1giles. Esta fase se forma lentamente en los aceros inoxidables austen\u00edticos y d\u00faplex. La fase \u03c3 suele formarse en un intervalo de temperaturas de 600\u00b0C a 900\u00b0C. Cuando los materiales se exponen durante per\u00edodos prolongados a temperaturas cercanas a los 475 \u00b0C (885 \u00b0F), los \u00e1tomos de cromo se acumulan dentro de la matriz met\u00e1lica. Esta acumulaci\u00f3n aumenta significativamente la dureza del material, pero al mismo tiempo hace que el acero sea extremadamente fr\u00e1gil a temperatura ambiente. A temperaturas comprendidas entre 450 \u00b0C y 850 \u00b0C, los carburos de cromo se forman a lo largo de los l\u00edmites de grano.
