China’s Zhujiang Steel Pipe Wins Order Of Nigeria Natural Gas Pipeline Project

As the implementation unit of a major project in the offshore engineering equipment manufacturing industry in Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province, Zhujiang Steel Pipe Co., Ltd. recently won a US$130 million overseas order against the trend to produce 300 kilometers long for the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Nigeria natural gas pipeline project.

The company’s executive deputy general manager Su Zhangzhuo said: “This is the single project with the largest contract value that our company has won in the past 17 years, supplying 150,000 tons of steel pipes. This is not easy in the current downturn in the international oil and gas extraction industry. ."

Su said that this project is an export project with a large single contract value in Gaolan Port Area and even Zhuhai City this year. It is of great significance to the logistics, port and wharf, foreign trade and other industries in Gaolan Port Area and even Zhuhai City, as well as to stimulate employment. In terms of logistics, it can drive an output value of more than 10 million US dollars.

According to reports, at the end of June this year, the Nigerian natural gas pipeline project AKK with a total investment of 2.8 billion US dollars started construction. This project is the only main artery connecting the southern gas source of Nigeria with the northern gas unit with stainless steel pipe and fittings or duplex pipe fittings in the future, and it is also a key project in the recent construction of oil and gas facilities in Nigeria. It plays an important role in ensuring the safety of Nigeria's oil and gas energy, boosting the local economy, and promoting people's livelihood security.

It is understood that the 600-kilometer AKK natural gas pipeline is scheduled to be completed within a 24-month timetable. The project is the first phase of the 1,300-kilometer trans-Nigerian natural gas pipeline project. The Trans-Nigeria Natural Gas Pipeline project is part of the 4401-kilometer Pan-Saharan Natural Gas Pipeline, which will export natural gas to European customers.

“Our company is responsible for the supply of 300 kilometers of pipelines.” said Li Jianfeng, deputy chief engineer of Zhujiang Steel Pipe Company. “Although these natural gas pipelines are on land, they have very high technical requirements due to the complex terrain along the way. The project owner hopes to use the seabed The construction of oil and gas pipelines is based on the technical standards. As an advanced manufacturer of subsea oil and gas pipelines, our company has mastered the manufacturing technology of 3,500 meters of subsea oil and gas pipelines. This is where we have the confidence to win the market."
